Week 12: Hungry for Truth and... Just Plain Hungry.

Hello Everyone, We have had 3 awesome weeks!! This week we had Zone conference and that was way cool!! President Christianson talked about faith and sacrament and we did a break out and me and my comps taught him and his wife!! It was scary!! It was really spiritual and it went super well!! The meeting went late and we have to be out proceliting at 6,  we didn't have enough time to eat and we wanted to be obedient.  So we went without food and ended up finding some SWEET people!!!!! One of which we have gotten back in with already!! Then on Saturday our plans got trashed completely! The sisters battery died so i went and jumped it for them (my comps are not well versed on cars haha) Then a member called and asked us for help building a Power wheels fire truck for her sons birthday.  That went until 5:45.  Yep no dinner again! So we went out and procelited and got even more blessings put in our path! (one of them being food ;) ) We had a lesson that fell through but...

Week 11: Slow but Steady Progress

Hello  Everyone, It's been a great week!  Friday we taught 4 lessons!! That was awesome!!! The first one was a guy named John Moore.  He was a referral we got from the Elders in Baltimore City.  We knocked on his door praying he'd be home and he was! He let us in and we taught the restoration! He agreed with it all!! He said that he knew there had to be a prophet on the earth but he didn't know where! How awesome is that?! He accepted a soft invite and we are going back on Wednesday to teach his whole family.  The other one i want to tell you about is George.  I met him on the street a while ago and every time we tried by he was never home.  I convinced my comps to try one more time.  As i knocked i prayed so hard that he would be home.  He answered and let us in. He explained his work schedule was crazy the last little bit and that he was actually about to leave when we knocked.  He thanked us for not giving up on him. He reads ...

Week 10: Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween,  This week was insane!! Good and bad!! We had 2 amazing days in a row.  We decided to make a goal to find someone or get a referral for each one of us this week.  We prayed and asked for help finding 3 people we could get in with and baptize this transfer.  That day we came in contact with at least 5 solid people. One we gave to the sisters and she is doing awesome! The others we are getting in with today and at our trunk or treat. Some members invited their neighbors and we gave them a church tour.  They are now wanting to learn more and THEY asked us how long it takes until they can get baptized! We have gotten at least 1 referral a day! God really blesses you when you turn to him and ask for help.  Now onto the bad(ish) part of my week.  On Friday I was emergency exchanged to Clarksville. The elders there weren't doing well with each other and the assistants had to go and keep the peace until we could get there.  They called ...

Week 9: TWO MONTHS and Blessings of an Eagle Project

Hello All! Its crazy to think its been 2 months! It feels like it flew by but it has been forever long too!! This week was busy! On Tuesday we just procelited and helped Elder Palmer get ready to leave! Wednesday we dropped him off and got our new companion, Elder Ainsworth.  We got a few groceries, went home and dropped everything off. Then we had service until like 4, planned, studies and went proceliting around 6.  Thursday we had service for someone, after that My comps had a meeting with the DLs so the normal Joe blows got together and I got to drive for the first time in 2 months and we went to a couple of potentials.  After that we went back and did normal proceliting.  Friday we helped a member roof his shed! My Eagle Project came in handy and I shingled it with him! Again we didn't procelite until around 6! Before we went out I said a prayer asking since we didn't have a lot of time to be guided to where we could find someone and maybe get a referral....

Week 8: That old Jeep came in handy...

Hello Again, Transfers are this week.  I am staying in my area!! Elder Palmer is the new assistant so I'll be getting a new companion.  I'll miss him but he'll do awesome!! It's nice being companions with the zone leaders we get to do exchanges once or twice a week. I get to work with other missionaries and learn different ways to do the work. Earlier this week we saw a guy working on his car so I went and talked to him and asked what was wrong and it was something I had fixed in the jeep so I told him what he needed to get and do to make it work and then I gave him a Book of Mormon and a card with our number on it.  He called us a couple days later and told me what I suggested to do on his car worked and that he wanted to hear our message!! Today we just played sports with our zone,(the sisters made me pumpkin cookies and made me a card for my birthday) we went to Five Guys for lunch, thanks for the gift card Mom and Dad! and this morning i opened my presents!! I...

Week 5: A Man on the Porch

Hello Everyone! This week was pretty lax! just the normal contacting and handing out copies of the Book of Mormon.  We had a trainer- trainee meeting with the president and I got to see all my MTC buddies!! That was really cool!! As for my week its been pretty normal! There was one guy I'd given a card to before that we saw on his porch.  We went up to him and talked to him and he was very interested.  We talked for about 15 minutes, gave him a Book of Mormon and asked him to read the intro, and then started to walk away.  I felt prompted to go back and ask to bring up Mormon.org on his phone (he was watching Netflix when we walked up)  He let me pull it up and I explained what is was about and asked him to look through it and watch some of the videos.  2 days later we were in the same neighborhood and saw him on his porch again.  We decided to go up to him and as we got closer we saw he was reading something or on his phone again.  As we got ...
