Week 2: Provo MTC

Hey Everyone!

I got my itinerary!!! I will NOT get another Pday but we might get to email Monday! In class we have been learning about looking for and finding evidences of faith in our investigators.  If they don't feel comfortable praying then have them read or just listen and think.  Last week went by so fast!!!  We get new teachers this week which kinda sucks! i liked my teachers!   I feel like I've grown a lot since I've been here! Somehow its only been 2 weeks! some awesome stuff i want to share with you:  If you don't know if the spirit is telling you something or if its your own thoughts Elder Bednar says " Just quit worrying about it! Go forward with faith and as long as you're worthy you'll have the spirit with you" I love that and i know i have a lot of times where i don't know if its me or the spirit! Another couple quotes i like are "You need to feed your faith before you feed your doubts"  "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" and finally " As a missionary you need to seek to understand before you seek to be understood"  Our main focus to to grow a relationship with our investigator and the easiest way to do that is to not teach and to just listen and ask questions and if the time comes to respond with a spiritual thought then you can teach.  Some exciting news.... Me and my comp were asked to be Zone Leaders (on Wednesday) For the last 2 weeks we are here!
The pictures I am sending this week are of my district after we went to the temple today and me with Elder Jordan Baldwin from my ward at home.  It is nice having that little piece of home here with me at the MTC!
I know this gospel is true and I know that if I focus on who I'm representing that I'll always have the spirit with me to comfort me in times of trial and hardship and to help me teach according to the needs of my investigators!  I love this gospel and I love my Lord and Savior!
I am praying for all of you! And I love you all!

Week 5: A Man on the Porch

Hello Everyone! This week was pretty lax! just the normal contacting and handing out copies of the Book of Mormon.  We had a trainer- trainee meeting with the president and I got to see all my MTC buddies!! That was really cool!! As for my week its been pretty normal! There was one guy I'd given a card to before that we saw on his porch.  We went up to him and talked to him and he was very interested.  We talked for about 15 minutes, gave him a Book of Mormon and asked him to read the intro, and then started to walk away.  I felt prompted to go back and ask to bring up Mormon.org on his phone (he was watching Netflix when we walked up)  He let me pull it up and I explained what is was about and asked him to look through it and watch some of the videos.  2 days later we were in the same neighborhood and saw him on his porch again.  We decided to go up to him and as we got closer we saw he was reading something or on his phone again.  As we got ...

Week 10: Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween,  This week was insane!! Good and bad!! We had 2 amazing days in a row.  We decided to make a goal to find someone or get a referral for each one of us this week.  We prayed and asked for help finding 3 people we could get in with and baptize this transfer.  That day we came in contact with at least 5 solid people. One we gave to the sisters and she is doing awesome! The others we are getting in with today and at our trunk or treat. Some members invited their neighbors and we gave them a church tour.  They are now wanting to learn more and THEY asked us how long it takes until they can get baptized! We have gotten at least 1 referral a day! God really blesses you when you turn to him and ask for help.  Now onto the bad(ish) part of my week.  On Friday I was emergency exchanged to Clarksville. The elders there weren't doing well with each other and the assistants had to go and keep the peace until we could get there.  They called ...

Week 3: Maryland Bound

Hi everyone!!   I won't be able to write much this week.  We aren't having an official Pday since we are leaving  tomorrow .   4 elders from our district left  this morning. That was kinda sad. You create a strong bond with one  purpose and grow so close within days and then after a couple weeks we  have to all separate. It sucks!  This week has been really good  though!! I still kinda have a cold, but it is getting better. I  also don't really want to leave the MTC! I am so excited to get to  Maryland though!!!!    We did floral  Friday  with our ties  and We did a tie signing  with one of our teachers!!! That was cool and I got his tie because he  liked mine and wanted to trade!!  I got a haircut  on Saturday .  That was the most violent and fastest haircut I've ever gotten!!! I just want to share that I know this gospel is true and that Christ is our Savior ...
